Debating & Public Speaking
Wollondilly Anglican College offers a range of opportunities for students to become involved in Debating and Public Speaking. We consider that an ability to communicate with confidence, and to express an opinion on issues that impact on our world, are attributes that enrich our students’ education.
Our Debating Squads, from Years 5 to 12, participate in both the HICES and MISA debating competitions. Debating workshops and regular training meetings, along with the opportunity to visit other schools and meet other debaters, all contribute to the development of skills, confidence and friendships within the debating fraternity.
Opportunities in Public Speaking are also provided. We run a College based Public Speaking program along with a competition during College hours. Each year we host the MISA Year 10 competition bringing together schools in our regional area. Our students are also encouraged to enter inter-school competitions at the local and regional level.
