The Middle Years
The Middle Years at Wollondilly are Years 5 to 8. One of the great strengths of the College is the seamless transition between the Junior and Middle years. Traditionally a time of uncertainty and anxiety, the move from the Junior Years is little more than returning to a familiar environment with familiar friends. In Years 5 and 6, students are part of a transition learning program centred around a core teacher and several specialist teachers. They are less entrenched in one room. Years 7 and 8 provide an opportunity to sample a variety of possible elective subjects to assist with an informed decision for Years 9 and 10.
Students in Years 7 and 8 have the support of a dedicated Year Patron and Assistant Year Patron who remain with the group throughout their Secondary years as their primary Pastoral Carers.
Students in the Middle Years are involved in fortnightly Chapel services, a buddy program with the Junior Years that runs three sessions per Term, a fortnightly Pastoral Care Program and three sessions per week where students have a dedicated Roll Call Teacher who assists with a range of administrative and pastoral support along with commencing the day with a time of devotions.
The Student Leadership roles in the Middle Years are:
- Primary Captains – Year 6
- SRC Representatives.- Year 7
- Middle Captains – Year 8
