English
The English curriculum at Wollondilly Anglican College aims to develop a passion for the written word and an interest in the power of language to communicate, challenge and enrich our perspective of the world. This is achieved through engagement with a range of literature from different cultures and contexts. Changing values and attitudes are explored along with an appreciation of different cultures and perspectives on issues in an ever changing world. Essential 21st century communication skills are developed through building the capacity to compose texts for different purposes ranging from creative and imaginative pieces to critical and interpretive analyses. The knowledge and skills developed by the English staff are not an end in themselves. Through our teaching programs we hope to instil an appreciation of God’s creation, our place in the world and how we can relate to others as Jesus has taught us.
