Secondary Teaching & Learning

Science

Science is a rich mixture of scientific knowledge, critical thinking, creativity, practical skills and ICT skills, all designed for students to gain a greater appreciation of God’s creation.

At Wollondilly Anglican College, we aim to develop skills and understanding so that students may pursue a career using science if they wish. Regardless, we hope to develop young people with a lifelong interest in science, who are active participants in the wider community, capable of engaging in an informed way with the issues of today and tomorrow. The curriculum in Years 7 to 10 encourages students to develop deep inquiry learning through practical activities. This mindset continues into Years 11 and 12 through Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Earth and Environmental Science, as well as the new Extension Science course.

Our faculty also aims to encourage a passion beyond the classroom through activities such as Streamwatch, crystal growing, astronomy nights and Science Week.
