A Year of Settled Strength
Parents have responded warmly to our thematic goal of raising academic aspiration. Whether at assemblies, morning teas, or informal conversations, I have been encouraged by the way families have embraced this vision and reinforced it at home. New staff and students have also settled quickly, and I was personally heartened to meet with each new staff member early in the year. Their gratitude for the support of colleagues and leaders was a reminder of the strength of our supportive and caring staff culture.
Celebrating Community
Our community events have been rich and meaningful. The Secondary Mother’s Day Breakfast was a highlight, with Mr Matt Roberts’ message on the sacrificial love of mothers resonating deeply. Many mums shared that they felt the event glorified God, which is the highest encouragement we could receive. In September, we celebrated our Secondary Father’s Day Breakfast, which was a great opportunity to chat with Dads and Grandads along with their children and grandchildren.
Our annual P&F Golf Day provided another opportunity to connect with families and community leaders, including our State Member, Ms Judy Hannan, who has always been an appreciated supporter of the College. These relationships continue to enhance the College in practical and meaningful ways. We thank the amazing parents of our P&F who work so hard to provide great opportunities for our families, as well as our students. Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls are always appreciated by students, and the Annual Country Fair is a brilliant showcase of our community spirit. Thank you, P&F team, for all that you do!
Honouring Achievement and Effort
Our students have excelled across academics, sport, and the arts. The MISA Dance Festival showcased respectful, God-honouring performances under the guidance of Ms Kara Valente. Primary football teams have been outstanding, and our Year 12 cohort graduated with dignity and joy, completing their HSC with confidence.
The Stage 6 Secondary Academic Effort Awards and Breakfast was another memorable occasion, recognising students who demonstrated diligence and commitment to their studies. Parents joined us in celebrating their children’s perseverance—a powerful reminder that effort is the foundation of excellence.
Looking Ahead with Thanksgiving and Excitement
As Term 4 comes to a close, I am grateful for the positive attitude of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the ongoing support of our parents. Above all, I am grateful for the settled strength of this year—the calm confidence that comes when a community is united in purpose, striving together for excellence, and grounded in Christ.
Looking forward, we are filled with anticipation for the projects now underway. The Second Entrance is nearing completion and will provide smoother access for families and visitors. Next year, construction will begin on our new Multipurpose Hall (Sports Centre), which will offer additional classrooms and two indoor basketball courts—an outstanding facility that will enrich both learning and community life.
At the same time, we will be launching our new Strategic Plan. Shaped through valuable input from Council, staff, parents, and students, this plan reflects the collective wisdom of our community and sets a clear vision for the next stage of growth and development. I am deeply thankful for the Executive team, whose commitment to Christ-centred leadership has kept our planning grounded in faith and excellence. The Strategic Plan will reinforce our enduring themes of Learning, Care, and Culture, guiding every initiative and project as we continue to build a College where students thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education and care of your children. May God bless you and your families as we look forward to 2026 with hope and expectation.
