A Seamless Start to Secondary
Year 5 at Wollondilly Anglican College is specifically designed to prepare and equip our students with the skills and abilities to thrive as they enter the Secondary Years at the College.
Lifelong Friendships
Year 5 at Wollondilly Anglican College provides a fantastic opportunity for lifelong friendships to formed through teamwork in the classroom, connections on the playground, co-corricular groups and shared adventures at the Year 5 Camp. These experiences foster strong bonds and social skills, creating a supportive foundation as students transition into Secondary Years.
Academic Readiness
Through our use of Explicit Instruction, students in Year 5 are engaged and challenged in a vigorous learning environment, providing them with the skills and resilience to thrive in the Secondary Years at the College.
Explicit Instruction in all subject areas starts with teaching students the content and vocabulary they need to know, as well as providing opportunities to apply a range of appropriate skills. Students are then given opportunities to apply their new knowledge to creative problem-solving and higher-order thinking situations.
Students learn to reflect on their own learning, they understand that mistakes help us grow, that we all make mistakes, that our effort is what is most important and that honest reflection is required. Students learn to work with others, to persevere when they are frustrated and that challenge is a requirement for learning.

What our parents are saying
"Wollondilly has been a great institution for our child. We have seen his confidence develop in many aspects of life including friends, sporting growth and academic skills."
"We have been involved in the College since our eldest son was in Transition, he is now in Secondary. We have seen staff care for all our children and genuinely want to see them be the best they can be. Our shy, anxious Transitioner is now taking the stage in College Musicals and this is only because of the way the staff at the school love like Jesus loves all the kids they teach. Thanks WAC."
"Ever since we moved our three daughters over to Wollondilly Anglican College they have thrived Academically and socially. We also like that the school shares the same family values. I highly recommend Wollondilly Anglican College "
